Undergraduate Degrees

The Faculty offers a diverse range of courses in the sciences and economics related to agricultural production, processing, marketing and natural resource management. All of the undergraduate degrees are four year programs that emphasise analytical, quantitative, computing and communication skills. Excursions, field-based studies and professional work experience place theory into its practical context. All students complete a research project in the Fourth Year, which is highly regarded by employers. The teaching is supported by good computer laboratories and the Faculty’s intranet.

Applied science-based programs provide training in scientific disciplines and the socioeconomic context relating to production, processing and marketing of agricultural products; food systems; management and conservation of natural resources.

Applied economics degrees focus on agricultural and natural resource issues and commodity markets.

Graduates enjoy high employability in wide-ranging occupations and a high degree of career satisfaction. The Faculty has good links with industry and maintains a strong presence in the rural sector through student excursions, professional experience placements in a range of operations and locations, and research links. These links ensure that course offerings remain up-to-date and relevant to the needs of graduates and employers.
