Associate Professor Ross Drynan
Research interests
I’m interested in the mathematical economics analysis of the agricultural and natural resource sectors.
Initially I was interested in optimization methods and agricultural decision analysis under risk and uncertainty; however they have been broadened to include issues of optimal and sub-optimal utilization of natural resources. A lot of my research projects are abroad, in Indonesia, China and Laos.
Background
Ross Drynan received a B.Agr.Sc with Honours in 1972 and completed his PhD in Economics from the University of New England in 1977, Worked aboard as a research associate at North Carolina state University. Moved back to Australia in 1980, and worked as a lecturer at the University of Queensland. Joined the University of Sydney as head of Department of Agricultural Economics in 1990.
