Dr Thomas Bishop
Research interests
I am a Senior Lecturer in Environmetrics. Environmetrics is concerned with application and development of statistical methods for solving environmental and agricultural problems. My current research interests include:
- monitoring of the spatial and temporal change of water quality in surface and ground waters;
- developing methods for performing experiments at the landscape-scale;
- pedometrics and digital soil mapping; and
- mechanistic modelling of environmental processes, in particular catchment hydrology and spatialisation of point simulation models.
Background
Thomas Bishop graduated from the University of Sydney with a BScAgr (Hon 1) in 1996 and a PhD in Agriculture in 2002. In early 2007 he accepted a Senior Lectureship in Environmetrics. Prior to that he worked in a variety of positions including being a Spatial Analyst at the NSW Department of Land & Water Conservation, undertaking postdoctoral research at the University of Florida, Rothamsted Research Institute in the UK and the University of New South Wales.
