Excellent demand for graduates
Graduates have outstanding employment rates of well over 90% by graduation. Half of the graduates enter the finance and business sector, 30% are employed in agribusiness and marketing, 15% in policy making, and 5% in economic journalism and on large corporate farms. The rigorous nature of this degree equips graduates for a competitive global market place.

Career opportunities
Graduates in agricultural economics from the University of Sydney have gained employment in:
agribusiness, accounting, merchant banking, risk management, futures and commodity trading, consulting (domestic and international), market analysis, economic journalism, economic research, resource and environmental management, public policy analysis, and management of large corporate farms.

Undergraduate scholarships
Scholarships are currently worth up to $10,000 per year, over four years, and are awarded on the basis of a minimum UAI of 94.

All applications for Faculty scholarships should be submitted on the University of Sydney scholarship application form. If you apply for a University of Sydney scholarship (minimum UAI 95) you do not need to submit a separate application for a Faculty scholarship. All University of Sydney Scholarship applicants are automatically considered for Faculty scholarships. Student Exchange Program
Students with a good credit average or better are able to take advantage of the one-year Student Exchange Program which offers placement with universities all over the world. To prepare for careers with an international focus, many students now study abroad for a semester or a year. Selection is competitive. Some bursary funding is available.

Facilities and resources
You will have access to excellent resources including well-equipped laboratories and computer facilities, and a specialist library. The University owns extensive large-scale plant breeding research centres and commercial farm operations throughout New South Wales.

Mathematics bridging crogram
Students who have not completed HSC Mathematics should consider a Maths bridging course.
