Undergraduate study

Fire your imagination. Make a difference. Change the world.

Most of us take our food, water and energy for granted. But in a rapidly changing world, have you ever stopped to consider how availability to these resources will change? Increasingly, solutions to such issues fall on scientists and economists. Never has the demand been greater for graduates with a strong understanding of natural ecosystems, and how these ecosystems are valued by society at large.

Our graduates are differentiated by their superior skills that are highly regarded by employers. Students undertake a professional experience program that provides contacts with industry, often leading to offers of employment. Over 95% of students are employed within three months of completion which reflects the high demand for professionals in agribusiness and marketing, commodity trading, finance, policy and economic research.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources is a small and friendly faculty that offers a number of undergraduate degree programs in applied science and economics. In 2010, the degree programs we will offer are the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BScAgr), the Bachelor of Environmental Systems (BEnvSys), the Bachelor of Agricultural Economics (BAgrEc) and the Bachelor of Resource Economics (BResEc). Graduates of these degree programs are highly versatile and find employment quickly upon completion; the demand for such graduates in the agricultural and resource sectors is currently much greater than the supply.

Studying at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources offers the combined benefits of a prestigious University of Sydney degree, a high quality learning experience, involvement in cutting-edge research, access to a large network of employers of applied science and economics graduates, and plenty of opportunities for rural experiences through field trips and placements.
